We’ve all been to jail, Right? …RIGHT? Well, I was lucky enough to spend an entire month behind bars for A&E’s Booked: First Day In. Stationed in the swamps of Coastal Mississippi, I filmed and interviewed inmates as they navigated the booking process in the Hancock County Jail. There, I met some tremendously kind individuals and captured some truly fascinating stories. Jails and the people who inhabit them are dramatically misunderstood and I’m thankful for the opportunity to gain some perspective. I encountered folks from all walks of life and ate a bunch of Southern soul food along the way. Ask me about the time I was attacked by a pelican!
